This Darbuka was developed by Kobi Hagoel, an Israeli percussionist well seasoned in playing, building and repairing percussion instruments. Its' unique shape creates a larger range between the lower "doum" tap and the higher "tak" sound of regular darbukas. (a fifth above octave).It's an aluminum cast drum with a very accurate tuning system. Hear the difference for yourself; -this darbuka is the first of the two on the downloadable sample below.
